§ 13-10. Unauthorized reception.

  • (a)

    Misdemeanor. In addition to those criminal and civil remedies provided by state and federal law, it shall be a misdemeanor for any person, firm or corporation to create or make use of any unauthorized connection, whether physically, electrically, acoustically, inductively, or otherwise, with any part of the cable system without the express consent of the grantee. Further, without the express consent of grantee, it shall be a misdemeanor for any person to tamper with, remove, or injure any property, equipment, or part of the cable system or any means of receiving cable service or other services provided thereto. Subject to applicable federal and state law, the franchising authority shall incorporate into its criminal code, if not presently a part thereof, criminal misdemeanor law which will enforce the intent of this section.
