§ 2-22. Ambulance service.

  • (a)

    Establishment. An ambulance service, under the supervision of the mayor and operated by personnel of the fire department, is hereby established for the purpose of providing transportation for the sick and injured.

    (b)

    Rules and regulations. The council shall establish written rules and regulations for the use and operation of such service, and shall, by resolution, adopt a schedule of fees and charges for the use of such service, together with compensation of the ambulance driver and such assistants as may be necessary.

    (c)

    Ambulance fund. All receipts from the operation of the ambulance service shall be placed in the ambulance fund by the city administrator, and used for the operation and maintenance of the Service, including repairs and replacement of equipment.
